“THE HUMAN RACE HAS ONE HIGH EFFECTIVE WEAPON AND THAT IS LAUGHTER.”
Tomorrow I will remember Gilda Radner’s gift of laughter.
On May 6 of this year Dom and I celebrated 43 years of marriage with no time off for bad behavior.
Like most long term relationships, our marriage has grown like an epic novel with many chapters that have chronicled happiness and heartbreak. Somehow, at the conclusion of every chapter, we have always been able to come together and stay together. And, gentle reader, I don’t know how we have done it. So, don’t ask for the secret of how we arrived at this huge number of years still together.
Sometimes Dom will ask why I married him. This usually occurs when I am finding fault with something. And the answer is, besides his many, many, wonderful characteristics, he makes me laugh.
Here is an example of that:
Well, maybe I do have a piece of advise. Marry a man who makes you laugh so hard that you are afraid that you will….( I will let you fill in the blank).
Wishing you the joy of a relationship with a partner who tickles your funny bone.
A lot of happenings this past week – Thanksgiving and Breakfast with Santa. These events are something I look forward to with happy anticipation every year. Hillary, my daughter in law, prepares a very yummy Thanksgiving dinner and it is so much fun to watch my grandson, Lucas, participating in the mystery and magic that is Santa Claus.
But the most fun I had this past week was when Lucas spent the night at our home. We went up to our bedrooms to change our clothes to go out to eat. Lucas announced to me that it was now time to be silly. Hmmm, I thought, I wonder what being silly entails. But I just proceeded with changing my clothes and listening to him in his room changing his clothing. He was laughing and giggling and have a great old time all by himself. As I listened to him I couldn’t help but wonder when was the last time I had been able to make myself that joyful. At last he came into my bedroom. He was completely naked with a pair of underpants on his head. He laughed and laughed and then streaked around the bedroom shouting “MeMe it’s silly time”.
I received this post yesterday and I am sharing it with you so that you can have a laugh at silly time too.
Wishing you a week filled with silly smiles,
