Dear Senior Salon Members,
I am sorry to say that this will be the last Senior Salon. I find that taking the road that is providing new challenges has not left me enough time to devote to my very well loved Salon and I don’t want to keep this project going without giving it the proper love and attention.
I am not going away from Haddon Musings and will continue to read and follow the members of the wonderful tribe that has formed here.
Anyone interested in taking up the baton and opening the door of their site to form a Salon is very welcome to do so.
Thank you everyone for all your support and friendship.
Thank you for all the time and effort you have devoted to the Salon.
I hope your new challenges leave you fulfilled and happy. 🙂

There are only so many hours in a day. Much as we would like, we have yet to learn how to manipulate and stretch time so we can fit in more of the things we love and want to do! Thank you for your time and energy spent here hosting this Salon for us to connect to. I look forward to meeting you in other spaces. Wish you a world of love, health and happiness 🙂 Raili

Your encouragement in the first year of the rabbit patch, made such a difference-and you have never let up. . .again thank you. Please know you are an honored guest always and best wishes , my dear Bernadette. love Michele

Thank you, Bernadette, for your myriad introductions to amazing people who now feel like old friends! (Ooops, ‘old’ as in dear, not rickety.) Blessings (& hope you’re still doing feminist Fridays – so inspiring learning about the women you profile!) 💐😎💐

Thanks for keeping the Salon going for as long as it has been. I go to work part-time now so also do not have the same amount of time to devote to social media as I used to. Best wishes, Stevie. x

My dear Bernadette, I am sad to read this, of course but everything changes, nothing stays the same …. I have been very patchy with my blogging this year (read patchier than usual) and I am absolutely not the person to grasp the baton but I hope someone who is more organised than me, might do so. If not, we have happy memories, we have wonderful connections and we have knowledge and learning and creative delights that we would never have found without you. So most of all, I thank you so so much for all you have done and for giving me the opportunity to get to know you which I hope will transmute to a lottle over time. Because that’s what friends are, right? A journey together even when the paths diverge.

Thank you for contributing so much through the Senior Salon. I enjoyed reading the posts of others, even though I consistently had difficulty posting, so eventually gave that up. I’m so glad you will continue posting and communicating with us all!

Hello Bernadette. The Salon was wonderful and you have done so much to promote others in their blogging, as well as bring a wonderful perspective to the aging issue. Your voice is an important one, especially with the continuing losses of citizen rights and protections here in the United States. I have no doubt your voice, as well as many others, is called to speak up elsewhere during this time period. And speak up you will. All my best to you dear Bernadette, and may your voice continue to ring with it’s clarity and wisdom. Thank you.

Johanna, thank you so much for your wonderful words. No, I haven’t given up. I am just focusing on women’s issues so that my granddaughter doesn’t have to fight the same battles that I thought we won in my youth.

I ask myself several times a week how the progress made for equality, democracy, environmental protections, privacy, and religious freedom could be unraveled with such ease, callousness, and disregard for even basic respect of all the hard won good that was achieved.
Our websites evolve all the time and you are certainly speaking in the language that Grandmothers understand. All my best to you – JoHanna
