With the upcoming Golden Globe Awards, I thought you might want to know about Alice Guy-Blanche one of the most important movie directors and innovators in the early days of films.
ALICE GUY- BLACHE YOU ROCK!
I invite you to share a link to your post about a woman who inspires you because we can never read too many stories about inspirational women.
A great post to start the year, Bernadette! 😀😀 I studied early German films at university and have an affection for these first movies…Alice was a true pioneer and skilled filmmaker. Fascinating and a beautifully crafted short biography of her life made brilliantly in the old style!

HI! To celebrate Feminist Friday, I’d like honor Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother. In my post, she has grown older and is beginning to lose her memory. However! She stays connected with her inner being and its value, and speaks out about the ways she continues to share her creative spirit and contribute to the world in a meaningful way. Hope you enjoy it and are inspired by her words:

Wow. What an amazing woman. It’s too bad she didn’t do any more films after her divorce. Loved this post. Now I need to Google and find out more about her! Thanks for introducing her to us. 🙂

I was also wondering why she ceased production after her divorce. That’s a shame.

I’m so sorry to hear that Alice’s life ended without her doing what she loved, but what a contribution. Remarkable for that time! And in 2018, women are still only beginning to break into directing and production in a significant way. These leaders deserve a huge applause, for where would we be without them. Wonderful post, Bernadette. Always fascinating. 🙂

Another amazing woman that I knew nothing about. THANK YOU, Bernadette. We need women like YOU educating us about women like Alice. We’ve come a long way… but in some ways it’s still an uphill hike.

I know. Equality is such a slippery slope – 2 steps forward and 1 back.

I never knew that, it was so interesting, especially in an era when most women stayed at home. Thank you for sharing.
