How lucky you are to be gardening in California! Our climate here, in Victoria, Canada, is as close as Canadians can get to California weather. But it’s not spring yet—it’s been a late year. We can’t quite believe the lateness of Spring weather this year! BTW, you will enjoy growing iris plants. In my experience, they come up year after year, and require very little care. I love the miniature ones!

Forgot to let you know that I’ve been to Victoria about 4 times, took the ferry from Port Angela! It’s a beautiful place to live. I know it’s cold!

It depends on where you live. My daughter lives in Portland, OR. The soil is so rich that having a garden is not a hard thing to do. Some have raised bed planters.
