I used to read Rod McKuen when I was a young hippy with long hair and John Lennon glasses. I came across this poem yesterday and was happy to read Rod again as a much older hippy with bifocals.
Age is Better
By Bernadette
About Bernadette
I live in the small town of Haddonfield, NJ. I am at an age in my life when I seem to spend time thinking and musing about life. These musings are usually stimulated by my walks through Haddonfield, my reading of books and fellow bloggers, and my interaction with my group of fabulous family and friends.
Oh my, I too was and remain a McKuen fan! I love this!

Beautiful poem. I think I’ve just entered autumn… Somehow summer went by so quickly. But maybe it hasn’t and it’s just a sneak-peak into autumn so that I’m more able to enjoy summer when it returns.

My favorite line! ‘Age erases pretense; replacing it with honesty.’ What an awesome read this was thanks for sharing Bernadette! ❤

I love this, and am going to attempt to put it on Twitter—I say ‘attempt’ because I’m learning to work with Twitter, and it’s never a sure thing!
