“Once when I was six years old I saw a magnificent picture in a book, called True Stories from Nature, about the primeval forest. It was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act of swallowing an animal. Here is a copy of the drawing.”
These are the opening lines from THE LITTLE PRINCE BY Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Moral allegory and spiritual autobiography, The Little Prince is the most translated book in the French language.

I am a little puzzled, love the picture and the book . But is this your prompt so’ we ‘use your drawing mouse and all? Or are you answering a prompt but there is no link to one? It is early so I could be sleep fugged so forgive me if it is obvious. 😯😕

I wasn’t very clear was I? I figured use the opening lines or the picture. Next week I will try harder to be clear.

Le Petit Prince is my favourite book of all …. I have copies in French and English on my bed-side table always and I encourage everyone to read it. It is a beautiful allegory. I will be interested to see what your readers come up with though I can’t quite bring myself to use this as a prompt – its so ingrained that I can recite it to you and Antoine St E’s words would surely should too loudly in my head. Bon courage à vos lécteurs!

An exquisite story, and one that both adults and children may enjoy. I haven’t read it in so many years

One of the best books ever. My granddaughters, 5 and 3, love the animated movie Little Prince on Netflix. Never too early. If everyone had read this book, the world would be a better place.
