NANCY AND BERNADETTE
I read the following poem the other day on Beth Ann Chile’s blog (It’s Just Life) and thought immediately of my friend Nancy who always makes time for everyone of her friends.
When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don’t stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven’t hoed,
And shout from where I am, What is it?
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.

I love your photograph and the poem Bernadette. Its sad that many people would not put down that hoe, and realise the importance of time well spent with a good friend.

I love Frost and that is such a lovely poem … I do think we should all keep it in our back pocket as a reminder of the friend we can be. I’m so glad you have that friend in your life x
