A chilling writing prompt was set by Bernadette of Haddon Musings entitled It was a dark and stormy night. The very thought of it sent shivers down my spine, or thereabouts. Dare you follow me into the storm-tossed night to face…That is yet to be revealed.

It was a dark and stormy night as I made my way through the town;  which was empty of the living and only shadows lingered in the rain-washed streets. Faint music drifted out of one first floor apartment, filled with deep melancholy and memories. So familiar, so familiar. If my cold heart was capable of emotion it would have wept. The violins wailed a song of thwarted loved and angst filled passion. I rested my against a stone wall, willing the past into the present. Breath after breath I sang a song of loss.
