BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.
I invite you to come and join me on this pilgrimage to change the world through thankfulness. Perhaps if enough of us join together we can change the negative climate that exists and is overtaking our planet. Together we can move our fellow citizens of to a better, higher and finer place.
At the end of the post you will find a link up frog and I hope you will join me on this venture and once a week write a post and link up to others and share what you are thankful for this week.
This Monday find me in Sicily. A country rich in history. As I walk along in this magnificent land, I am so thankful to have had this opportunity to fill my eyes and my soul with this entrancing land.
On the sixth day,
God accomplished His work
And, pleased with all the beauty
He had created,
He took the Earth in His hands,
And kissed it.
There, where He put His lips,
That’s Sicily.
Renzino Barbera, 1923 – 2009 Poet, writer, artist, actor
I hope that by writing these posts that we will move together beyond thankfulness into appreciation. Because appreciation for the moments and things for which we give thanks requires us to be mindful of our lives. “Travel is an excellent teacher – of so many profound subjects that are difficult to learn any other way. If she is the supreme mistress of any one, in my life experience, it is gratitude. Anyone who has traveled, even the most peripheral manner, has returned happy for home, hearth, and his own bed to sleep in. The longer we travel, the deeper we travel, the more profound those lessons of gratitude become.” Jennifer Miller
Thank you for joining me today,
PLEASE ADD YOUR POST AND TOGETHER WE WILL CHANGE THE WORLD.

Grace and gratitude are so much stronger than any fear based negativity. It may seem trivial, but the gentleness brings with it a powerful energy for change 🙂

What a beautiful reflection. I have never been to Italy, but I would love to go. I dream of seeing Rome, Venice, and Florence. I hope that you are having an amazing time! (It sounds like you are). Thank you for sharing the Jennifer Miller quote. It definitely strikes true. It also reminds me of one of my favorite quotes about traveling from Mark Twain: “…nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kinds of people.”

Beautiful post Bernadette. Having a grateful heart is the best virtue one can have. How can you be angry, sad or mean while feeling grateful? You can’t. I love the little poem about Sicily. 😉

Just give me a photo album from Italy, and I will look through it all day 🙂 Thank you for sharing. I am grateful for being able to travel. So many people cannot travel for many reasons.

Thank you for inspiring me to visit Sicily. It’s one of the places I’ve thought about visiting, and now, thanks to your photo, I will definitely make an effort to get there. In fact, I’d love to return to Italy since my last trip to Rome and Florence was 45 years ago, and to Venice, five years ago. Tuscany is also on my mind…. Lovely post.
