BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.

I invite you to come and join me on this pilgrimage to change the world through thankfulness.  Perhaps if enough of us join together we can change the negative climate that exists and is overtaking our planet. Together we can move our fellow citizens of to a better, higher and finer place.

This week I went to a wedding and saw two enchanting young people pledge to join their lives together and embark in their tiny boat of marriage to sail the seas of life.  Their hands are young and strong and perhaps together they will create a new tiny set of hands and bring more love into life.

This week I went to a funeral of a kind and generous man.  A man who was taken from the loving arms of his family and friends too early.  His hands were old but still strong.  He has left his wife alone to sail the sea of life and she will miss him.  They brought into life two new sets of hands and so his sons have added more love to the world.

I am thankful to be a part of this heartbreakingly beautiful circle of life.

I hope that by writing these posts that we will move together beyond thankfulness into appreciation. Because appreciation for the moments and things for which we give thanks requires us to be mindful of our lives. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”  Ecclesiastes

    I’m sorry for your loss, Bernadette. Your post reminds me about a poem I recently wrote called “Holding Hands” and touches on the circle of life. It’s amazing how God orchestrates these events.

    Sorry to hear about the funeral, Bernadette. He sounded like a gentle and kind-hearted man. He will always be remembered.

    I really like the Kate McGohan quote. Very profound. Indeed everything comes full circle in the end, and what’s meant to be, will be. Life is a journey of learning and the more we learn, the more paths we take and the more we cross paths with each other.

    I’m very sorry for your loss Bernadette. It is the circle of life and as much as I wish we could all live forever it pains me to know we can’t. So many people I want back in my life.. I suppose this is where faith comes in with the promise that we will see them again. It doesn’t erase the longing for them every moment of every day tho.

    Beautiful reflective post, Bernadette – the full circle of life and love in one week. Sorry for your loss, always tough – life stops all around. Congratulations to the young newly weds. I had a week like that a few years ago – it felt plain crazy and I was numb.

    We are currently reading Tuck Everlasting, and I love the conversations that evolve from the circle of life. I am embarrassed to say that it has been awhile since I have been here and I love the weeks of thankfulness. Now, I am off to read more of those!
