The tale had been told since I was a child. If you follow the path though it my be hard, at the end you will find the trouble eater. The trouble eater has a fierce expression, a bulbous nose, green whiskers, and hidden all seeing eyes. It has a cavernous mouth to eat all troubles. Only the most faithful to the arduous walk arrive at it’s doorstep.
I walked the path for many merciless years.
I stayed faithful and brave.
I found the trouble eater.
I laid down my troubles and found peace.
I became the trouble eater.

So absolutely beautiful your story is loved reading and just seeing myself walking in the forests in peace and to myself.

Bernadette, it is a beautiful piece of writing, and very much in tune with my current mood 🙂 A big deal of our troubles have to be consumed by ourselves, indeed 🙂

Wow! I didn’t like this Bernadette, I loved it. Lots of ways to think about this. The metaphorical thought occurs that someone who suffers, who is perhaps forced onto the arduous path, who sees the unthinkable and feels the unbearable can get to a place where they lay down their own troubles and find peace. Like Jacob wrestling with the angel, injured in the fight, but the recipient of a blessing who still walks with a limb, those who know suffering can learn from sorrow how to see pain and loss in others. In truth, those whose hearts are cracked open by pain can turn inward to bitterness or outward to other sufferers to help them bear their pain. In doing so, they do become the trouble eater. I think this is so true for you, Bernadette. So terrible, so lovely. Jo

Joanne, you got it completely. A choice is made to become bitter or to learn and turn outward to others. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. It made my day.
