MEMORIES

Memories
Like the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

The world has lost a wonderful soul and heaven has gained her.  My friend Maggi (on the right, me on the left) who passed on July 10, 2016.

This is written for #WQWWC – Writers Quote Wednesday Writing Challenge – Memories at https://silverthreading.com/2016/07/13/wqwwc-writers-quote-wednesday-writing-challenge-memories/.

The prompt for this week is Memories.  Very appropriate for me this week because I am lost in memories of my dear friend.  The lyrics to this Barbra Streisand classic were written by Marilyn Bergman.

About Bernadette

I live in the small town of Haddonfield, NJ. I am at an age in my life when I seem to spend time thinking and musing about life. These musings are usually stimulated by my walks through Haddonfield, my reading of books and fellow bloggers, and my interaction with my group of fabulous family and friends.

  1. Bernadette, at first, just seeing the photo, I had to smile at the two happy self-confident women, free and their whole lives in front of them. Then reading your words, my mood darkened – I am so sorry for your loss, Bernadette. My heart goes out to you and hope the memories that are held within you can give some comfort. Hugs to you xx

  2. I too smiled when I saw the photo, not realising what was to come. I am so sorry. You look so happy, you must have had some great times together and made lots of wonderful memories. I send you a virtual hug. 😢🌸
