I am joining Colleen at Silverthreading.com for her #WQWWC – Writers Quote Wednesday Writers Challenge – “Faith” today.
Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. It is a part of your spirit. I have faith despite inconclusive evidence to the contrary.
Belief is a product of my mind. My beliefs are mostly rooted in culture and upbringing.
Despite all the evidence that would cause me to believe I live in a world filled with danger caused by my fellow citizens of this planet, I still have faith in the basic goodness of human beings.
Don’t be led astray by what others want you to believe, follow your heart,
I have that faith in our basic goodness too, but it is very hard to keep it with so much evidence to the contrary, in a world that seems to be thriving on hatred. Good v evil has been a theme for a very long time, sadly.

Hi Bernadette, I have always loved the biblical quote “Faith in the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” I like your word confidence. Faith gives us the ability to so trust as to be convinced even without proof, I think Faith can encompass beliefs, as in the Apostles’ Creed, but you’re right they originate in the mind…faith in the heart and spirit. Love your post! Jo

A great message, one I needed today! Our mind often tries to meddle with our faith. Don’t listen to it!

It is difficult to have faith in people in this day and age, but like you, I like to try and see the goodness in people 🙂
