THE WILDEST SNOW STORM
with apologies to Mary Oliver
Today the wildest snow storm
I ever witnessed flew in
west to east, a white
howling sky-beast
flinging snow even as wind
printed out its sizzling
unreadable language
followed by terrible house shuddering.
JANUARY 23, 2016
A very poetic blizzard to celebrate as long as you don’t have to go outside.
Hope you are safe and warm,
Bernadette
Our snow is gone and we’re dealing with hurricane force winds and rain now!! 🌬🌬

That sky beast and shuddering house. I am in the south where it’s cool and gorgeous. Wishing you blue skies and sunshine soon.

The picture is storybook worthy. I hope you are inside with lots of food, drink and warmth!

Howling sky-beast seems quite accurate and yes, blizzards aren’t so bad if you have a comfortable and cozy place to be. I wish you warmth and coziness.

I love the idea of that wind printing out “sizzling unreadable language” and the picture is gorgeous. Yes, we’re safe in Denver & very warm, low sixties. It’s strange weather lately!

Your poem captures the wild ride that a blizzard brings in. I love the imagery and so grateful our snow was quiet as a cat tiptoeing into our world. I celebrate that this storm slid by us and pray for the safety of all in its path. Stay safe and warm my friend!

Be safe out there!
My car was frozen this morning
the wind screen white
Key fob froze tight
And i needed to wear my gloves
So I can imagine your pain
My loves.
This was written to make you smile No offence intended. X

Beautiful pic – belongs on a Hallmark card. We had about 20 min. of snow last evening. Woke up to little more snow this morning. Not much of a snow event where we are, however, howling winds prevailed. We live close to Atlanta, Ga

It’s years since I experienced a winter blizzard. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) Your poem brought it back to me. “Howling sky-beast”—what vivid language!

It’s amazing how something so picturesque can lead to such headaches and yuckiness. I guess that’s life. I love a good snowfall but the aftermath with icy roads and slush, I can do without!
