I WHISTLED UP THE SENIOR SALON

Last Tuesday found me shivering in my shoes but determined to whistle a happy tune. I though the best way to accomplish this was to get to work on a project that I had been mulling over for some time.

I have run into so many talented people since I started writing my blog.  A lot of these bloggers were using their retirement years to spread their wings and explore different aspects of the arts.  Some were writing, painting, photographing, cooking, quilting, creating pottery, writing poetry, and all manner of artistic endeavors.  I thought it would be fun to develop a place where seniors could meet and share their artistic explorations and share their methods of exploration.  It would be a place to offer encouragement to others who were just starting out hoping to add the richness of the arts to their lives.  And a chance for the reader to learn what other people’s methods and approaches to their art is.  It would be a place of encouragement, friendship and fun for men and women.

So I took the plunge last Wednesday and started, TA DA:

I know that most of you Slicers are still in your career years but if you know anyone who isn’t and think they might enjoy joining in on the fun on Wednesday, please pass this along.

Thanks always for your encouragement Slicers,

Bernadette

About Bernadette

I live in the small town of Haddonfield, NJ. I am at an age in my life when I seem to spend time thinking and musing about life. These musings are usually stimulated by my walks through Haddonfield, my reading of books and fellow bloggers, and my interaction with my group of fabulous family and friends.

  1. Love this idea. Being retired myself, I enjoy meeting with other retired colleagues once a month just to get caught up with what everyone else is up to. A whole new life begins once retirement starts.

  2. Beautiful graphic, and a fun idea, Bernadette. I am not retired yet and don’t have talent in many of the things here, but you have a good idea here. Lovely blog. Warm greetings from a baby boomer in Montreal, Canada. 🙂
