THANK YOU RUTH AYERS FOR PROVIDING A SPACE TO REMEMBER AND CELEBRATE THE GOODNESS IN OUR LIVES.
I struggle this morning to write this post. After the news from Paris last night, it feels wrong to celebrate anything while across the ocean I know so many people are suffering so much pain.
I pulled myself away from the television last night and the horror that kept spilling out from its screen to go to a concert by the Philadelphia Orchestra.
I celebrate today the gift that music is from God to lift our spirits and to be a balm for our souls. I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing performed One Land, One River, One People by Hannibal. It is an interplay between God and humanity which ends with the Creator teaching her creations how to live and find peace in the world. A perfect balm for my soul lat night and today.
This is a picture I took last week in Sedona that I think shows the state of my heart with beauty and pain co-exisiting:
Wishing you all moments of beautiful music,
Bernadette

So well said and such a perfect image to match your thoughts. I celebrated music as well today.
Glad we keep celebrating and the madness can’t take that from us.

What I have learned from Ruth is that celebrations become especially important during dark times.

I too felt strange celebrating when so many are mourning. It’s true though, as Terje wrote, in the dark times, we need the celebrations.

I know you read my post, and I understand about the reluctance, but loved that you found sustenance in the music. The picture fits so nicely too. Thanks for your thoughts.
