As I drove to the market yesterday, I saw two young maidens dressed in what appeared to be ballet attire dancing under a flowering tree.
I thought to be myself what an ideallic site. Two young girls unselfconsciously celebrating dance and spring – almost Greek like.
It must be my age, because I had forgotten the age old conflict that all young girls must resolve. The desire to stay a girl child and play and dance just for your own pleasure, or to step into the world of adulthood and dance to attract the opposite sex.
I’m not sure what these young sylphs were feeling but as I drove back a half an hour later, they were surrounded by a group of young boys. The boys seemed like bees hovering around flowers, jousting with each other to get some nectar.
Ah, spring, “It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
― Mark Twain
Wish you some spring fever this week.

Your quotes were perfect bookends to the slice of life you witnessed. I loved the analogy of the boys swarming like bees. Wonderful descriptions!
